It's all about family. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been a teacher, and I realised that I could really help people through BBQ when I was at a caravan park and met a man at the camp kitchen who was there with his three young sons who were running around screaming and playing up. It was the only two weeks of the year that he got to spend with his kids and he was at the end of his rope. He saw what I was grilling and asked me for a few pointers as his kids weren’t really interested in the sausages and onions he was burning. I ran into him the next night and he was cooking almost exactly the same thing that I’d been cooking the night before. His kids were quiet, interested in what he was cooking and actually having and engaging in conversations with him. He just gave me a little nod. I nodded back and he turned his attention back to his kids. That’s when I knew I had to start Smoking Hot Confessions.
