Smu Samba Masala
Incepted in 2004, Singapore Management University’s (SMU) resident Afro-Brazillian percussion band began as a humble dhol percussion group. Ever since, Samba Masala has taken on both local and international stages and wowed audiences to establish itself as an esteemed batucada. Under the tutelage of Bryan Lee, Eddy Hamid, and Rajay Singh, one of Singapore’s leading percussionists, Samba Masala has enthralled audiences worldwide in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. The prepossessing reputation of Samba Masala assures endless enthusiasm, passionate performances and bold beats. The unique blend of dynamic beats and vibrant stage performances promises audiences of nothing short the best in performing arts. Be it pulsating rhythms or smooth Latin grooves, Samba Masala’s distinctive nature of fusion Asian/Brazilian percussion is sure to meet and exceed expectations with its inimitable music, unparalleled style and sheer showmanship. So come join in the music, and let us bring the celebration to you.
