Snowshoe Canada

What We Do: Snowshoe Canada is a registered national nonprofit with Corporations Canada. We are a sports association set up to govern the growing sport of snowshoeing in Canada. We operate in a similar fashion to many other national nonprofits. We act as the governing body and provide a variety of services that benefit event organizers, athletes, sponsors, venue owners, and other related stakeholders. Our services include event sanctioning, athlete development, marketing support, membership services, and sponsorship packages. Our Mission: Our mission is to grow the sport by providing a safe, positive and inclusive environment for everyone. Our accountability is to the event organizers, athletes, venue operators, corporate sponsors, and related stakeholders. Governance: We aim to follow standard governance procedures for non-profits. Governance for a nonprofit is focused on achieving the organization’s social mission and ensuring the organization is viable. Public trust and accountability is an essential aspect of our organizational viability. It allows us to achieve the social mission in a way that is respected by those whom the organization serves and the society in which it is located. To achieve our mission we will set up by-laws and a strategic plan.
