For over 100 years, The Mount Sinai Hospital Department of Social Work Services has been a model for service, education and research and an integral part of the health care team. We provide compassionate care and exceptional service for all patients. With the assistance of a remarkable Auxiliary Board, innovative administrators and socially-oriented physicians, the Department has developed from a single social worker to a staff of over 500 today. Social Workers at Mount Sinai have been recognized on local, national and international levels. We are proud of our history at the forefront of the profession. The Mount Sinai Hospital offers comprehensive social work services and programming to meet the myriad needs of the populations we serve. We believe that total patient care must emphasize the physical, emotional, and social needs of each patient and their care partners. Social Workers collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to serve patients and the larger community from both a micro and macro level including both direct care and prevention.
