Sociorobotics

Sociorobotics as an emerging commercial and academic research platform is not only concerned with the inevitable aesthetic intricacies of social, cultural & haptic protocols within the more knowledgeable user-led design process of contemporary and future robotics, but also, with the intrinsic spaces that commercially successful robots will be required to inhabit. Sociorobotics provides a unique emprical research platform for robotic technologies which seek to enter healthcare, domestic, personal, work and companion spaces. From a sociorobotics research perspective, specialised industrial and conceptual robot technology can now successfully negotiate the sophisticated, commercial and ethical crossover to emerging social, cultural and domestic spaces, including healthcare, eldercare, workplace and personal robotics.
