Sofer Therapy

The Orly Sofer Center (TOSC) was founded in Midtown Manhattan in October 2011 by Dr. Orly Sofer. After years of working at hospital clinics, community mental health centers, assisted living facilities, and private clinics, Dr. Sofer decided to start her own practice to implement her vision of a therapeutic setting without institutional mandates. With over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Sofer was particularly interested in forming a center to help clients to gain more fulfillment from their lives. Through a warm, collaborative, and open-minded approach, The Orly Sofer Center helps clients gradually identify their desires, feel comfortable with themselves, and develop a cohesive sense of self. The Orly Sofer Center is designed to help clients with emotional challenges find a safe space to work on themselves and address various concerns such as life transitions, trauma, parenting, grief, loss, immigration, and cultural adjustment. TOSC helps clients take a deep look at themselves and examine how to untangle themselves from deep seated distorted beliefs. The Center caters to motivated men and women who are in unhealthy patterns in their personal and professional lives and want to free themselves from unproductive thoughts and painful feelings. Through TOSC, clients gain more awareness of their life to do what they want to do rather than live a life which is driven by their families or society at large. TOSC empowers their clients by helping them realize their own dreams and desires, gain their sense of their self, and who they truly want to be.
