SolutionsMapping works with sustainability leaders to elicit, visually model and effectively use the tacit knowledge, of themselves, their team and stakeholders. Tacit knowledge is the deeply held knowledge, know-how and insights that are essential to the design of effective sustainable solutions, but which too often are untapped and remain invisible. More knowledge means smarter solutions. SolutionsMapping's core product is a co-created visual knowledge model that facilitates shared vision, strategy alignment, capacity building, effective stakeholder engagement, meaningful learning & strategic communication. The knowledge model embodies the tacit knowledge of the leader, her team, and/or stakeholders. The knowledge elicitation & mapping process we use can be applied to any knowledge domain, so we are able to assist a broad range of leaders - for example in community re/development, appropriate technologies, policy development, urban infrastructure, water resources, food security and public health. Concept map-based knowledge elicitation has been shown to be 2-3x more efficient than the structured interview method often used to "capture" tacit knowledge. In addition, concept maps have been shown to be highly effective as a tool to facilitate meaningful learning, knowledge sharing & transfer, and capacity building. As a result of these factors, and our expertise and experience, our clients get much more "bang for their bucks."
