Welcome to Somascan Missions LinkedIn page! 🤝 Empowering The Community Through Action: Somascan Missions is a driving force for positive change. Our journey began by responding to the critical needs of financially disadvtanaged families, stemming from NSW state lockdowns. Through a diverse range of initiatives, we've become a beacon of support in South-Western Sydney. Led by Father Matthew Velliyamkandathil CRS and Father Chris De Sousa CRS, Somascan Missions incorporates the services of the poor that is foundational to the Order of Clerics Regular of Somasca (Somascan Fathers) of which they belong. Our Initiatives: • Global Outreach: We fundraise and provide relief for Somascan Communities caring for orphaned youth in Sri Lanka, India, and Mozambique. • Miani Meals: Weekly community meals to financially disadvantaged families, ensuring access to fresh food, regardless of background. • St Raphael Counsel: An offering of free legal and advocacy services to refugees, migrants, and the financially disadvantaged, ensuring justice is not limited to the privelaged. • Addictions Support Centre: Offering aid to those struggling with addictions, regardless of religious or cultural affiliations. • Community Counselling: Our professional counselors specialise in women's needs, domestic violence support, and more, fostering emotional well-being. • Youth Programs: Engaging young adults in volunteering, fundraising, and aiding the homeless, elderly, and troubled youth. 🤝 Connect with us via missions@somascan.org.au or visit to join hands in creating a lasting impact.
