Somboon Legacy Foundation

Founded in 2019, Somboon Sanctuary was created with one vision: to provide a safe, ethical, and loving environment for elephants in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Over the years, we have grown into a place where people from around the world can learn, connect, and bond with elephants — always with respect for their natural behavior and a safe distance. Our work spans across ethical tourism, wildlife conservation, cultural preservation, and community development. Our achievements since opening in 2019 include: Building a sanctuary where elephants live free from exploitation.(In 2026 we will open a new sanctuary which will be even better) Creating educational programs to teach visitors about elephants, conservation, and local culture. Partnering with mahouts to preserve traditional knowledge while promoting modern, ethical care standards. Welcoming international helpers who contribute to daily elephant care and community projects.
