With more than 175 million motors sold, Somfy is the world leader in automatic controls for openings and closures in homes and buildings. The company is also a pioneer in the field of Smart Home and Smart Building – running over five million connected devices in total. The company launched the first tubular motor for awnings in 1969, introduced io homecontrol as one of the first bidirectional radio protocols in 2007, and is currently focusing on an interoperable smart home world with TaHoma® and the "So Open" initiative.
