Somnia Osbrain Foundation

We are a non-profit organization working to empower women and girls, especially adolescent mothers through education, mentoring, advocacy, skills training, scholarships, and micro-business support. The Osbrain foundation was founded in 2019, taking the Ho West District as its base, and without regard to social class/ profession, religion, and or any political affiliation, is to inspire, direct and guide the natural creative qualities and desires of teenage mothers by promoting recreational, educational, cultural and religious programs that will adequately meet their physical, mental and spiritual needs. In 2019, we saw the potential of adolescent girls in the Ho West District but their current predicaments would not have allowed them to achieve the dream they ought to have. The environment, parents, and society they lived in were not supportive enough leaving the girls vulnerable to sexual abuse and pregnancy. Osbrain Foundation enrolled them into the NVTI apprentice program to undergo skill training in dressmaking. We have had two community engagements with the people of Hlefi-Bakpe and Awudome-Bame where we have relevant stakeholders dialogue on the menace of teenage pregnancy, and the right approaches to empowering teenage mothers economically. A lot of these girls are still vulnerable in the nearby communities and we intend to extend aid. A sustainable aid, in turn, promotes societal and global development leading to the relevant and effective attainment of Sustainable and Development Goals (SDG) Goal-1(No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and Goal-4(Quality Education). We target women between the ages of 10 to 30 which include but is not limited to the following: 1. Girls or women who have dropped out of school 2. Teenage mothers 3. Girls with various forms of disabilities 4. Unemployed women 5. Women and children who are suffering physical, sexual, or psychological abuse 6. Girls leaving with HIV/AIDS
