SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) is the leading open source network operating system for AI scale data centers. SONiC was originally developed at Microsoft and is now hosted under the Linux Foundation, backed by many of the most influential companies in networking, cloud, silicon, and AI infrastructure. SONiC software powers modern networking architectures with modular design, open source innovation, and multi vendor interoperability. The SONiC Foundation manages SONiC releases, documentation, community events, technical collaboration, and strategic direction for the SONiC project.
