Initially launched as Fouta Lifestyle in 2010, the brand expanded its offerings and relaunched as SOUKRA in 2017 by Pauline Eveillard following her time spent in the country as a Fulbright Student Fellow. Designed to shed light on the growing entrepreneurial movement in Tunisia following the Arab Spring, SOUKRA spotlights emerging designers known for fusing methods and materials rooted in tradition with the needs of contemporary consumers in mind. In conjunction with their ecommerce arm, SOUKRA also offers educational programming on everything from tips with tastemakers to neighborhood guides, recipes and designer interviews, and pop-ups at events.
