Sound Barrier was founded in 1972 by George Mederos and until the late '90s, Sound Barrier manufactured quality affordable car audio equipment. For almost 30 years Sound Barrier grew to become one the most popular brands of Car Audio equipment in the Americas and the Caribbean. As the market shifted and the demand for secondary market car audio equipment faded, Sound Barrier forged a new path to success, developing a small line of entry-level professional audio equipment. There was nothing fancy about the new line, just a few good-quality amps, and speaker cabinets.
