South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) is a vital component of Iran’s energy sector, managing the Iranian portion of the world’s largest natural gas field, the South Pars/North Dome field, shared with Qatar. Located in the Persian Gulf, this field contains approximately 1,800 trillion cubic feet of gas, with Iran’s section holding about 500 trillion cubic feet. Established in 1998, SPGC operates 13 gas refineries across 24 phases, processing around 580 to 600 million cubic meters of natural gas daily. This output accounts for nearly 75% of Iran’s total gas production. The complex also produces significant quantities of gas condensate, exceeding barrels per day. SPGC’s operations are centered in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in Asaluyeh, Bushehr Province, Iran. The company plays a pivotal role in meeting domestic energy demands and contributes substantially to Iran’s economy through the export of natural gas and related products.
