Sowing Justice
The mission of Sowing Justice is to utilize Environmental Justice principles to increase civic engagement beyond voting with organizing tools and resources for healthy and safe communities. Founded by Marquita Bradshaw who made history in Tennessee as the first black woman to secure a statewide nomination in 2020. Bradshaw grew up in a polluted community in South Memphis that has cumulative pollution including a National Priority Superfund site that operated as a military landfill. The vision is to use citizen science and voter engagement to address environmental racism and injustice to increase advocacy to support policies that create a legacy of clean air, water, and soil now and for generations to come.
