Spadetown, unfiltered beer with unfiltered attitude, brewed in Lurgan, Co. Amagh. We brew consistently good beer, the traditional way. Simple ingredients, crafted care and patience. something we have in spades! A longstanding jibe from our hometown of Lurgan Co.Armagh, we take our name 'Spadetown' from a commonly used expression who's origin relates to the plight of the over-worked and under-paid workmen who painstakingly dug what is now the Lurgan Park lake -'Face on ye like a Lurgan Spade'. Its meaning. To look miserable. To have a big moany head on you. To have a face like a smacked arse. To be a sour puss. To be a po-faced cranky pants. To look like you’re in the pits. To be a big auld misery guts. To be a massive moper. To be a Negative Nancy. Incase you don't think we're up to the job, our brewery consists of 6 x 2400 litre fermenters and a unit per hour canning line, we're set to handle commercial volume and can produce both 330ml and 440ml cans, multi-packs and single variety cases of 12 or 24 count. You'll find no funny business here, just good honest beer.
