My father, Simone, opened our first restaurant back in 1955, with his friend Lorenzo, in London's Goodge Street. Their idea was to introduce people to the fresh, simple Italian food that the two of them had loved back home. They were hugely successful, as Londoners too fell in love with the fresh food and welcoming ambience of a traditional Italian restaurant.
