Home to the #essexbeavers. The Estate is a truly diversified business offering high integrity BNG units, Wildlife Photography, Wild Venison and #beaver, ecology and agroforestry tours. There is also a small portfolio of residential and commercial property. Underpinning all this is our work to produce food in partnership with professional farming tenants, and the in-hand woodland management programme which delivers timber, wild venison and environmental benefits. We are constantly seeking new ways of improving the way we manage the land we are lucky enough to be custodians of. A family business for over 250 years planning for the long-term come naturally. Covering acres of North West Essex, near the Suffolk and Cambridgeshire borders, the Estate comprises around 1800 acres of arable land and 180 acres of woodland, there is also a small amount of meadow and permanent pasture. We are focused on Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services, investigating how we can measure what we are already providing, and what we could do better. With a developing natural flood management project we hope to reduce downstream flood risk to Finchingfield through some unusual and innovative techniques.
