Sparks Generation

Sparks Generation is a Swedish non-profit tech organization combining a proven method with a digital platform to help children and young people find meaningful leisure activities — and over time discover their interests, build confidence, and experience belonging. Our method is built on three interconnected parts: youth participation through trained youth ambassadors, a digital platform (SPARKSAPP), and data-driven collaboration with municipalities and civil society. Together, they create a continuous feedback loop between what young people say they want to do, what they actually try, and how communities design their leisure offerings. Through SPARKSAPP, children, young people, and their families can discover and book local sports, culture, creative activities, and community initiatives. At the same time, associations and municipalities gain tools and real-time insights to develop more inclusive, relevant, and accessible leisure ecosystems. Today, Sparks Generation has users — children, youth, and adults — and collaborates with municipalities, schools, youth centers, libraries, and associations. We are currently expanding into Gothenburg, with Linköping launching next. Our work is grounded in the belief that wellbeing, participation, and future opportunities are shaped early in life. By combining technology, data, and a participatory method, we work to reduce exclusion, strengthen mental and social wellbeing, and ensure that every young person — regardless of background — has access to activities where they can thrive. Together, we make leisure matter.
