ALTENLOH, BRINCK & CO was founded in Ennepetal as early as in 1823 and started the first industrial production of screws in Germany in what today is the factory of SPAX International. The subsidiary site in Gevelsberg – today's ABC Umformtechnik GmbH & Co. KG – was founded in 1912, and the third corporate division, AZ Ausrüstung und Zubehör GmbH & Co. KG, was incorporated into the group in 1991. The company SABEU joined the group of companies in 2010. 1823 In 1823, Altenloh, Brinck & Co was the first German company to start industrial production of screws. The company’s initials became a recognised brand name for the highest quality fastening elements. The company founded its lasting success on further diversification as a development supplier for special-purpose fastening elements, constantly improved and rationalised production processes and convincing product benefits. 1967 In 1967, ABC revolutionised the market with the introduction of the SPAX universal screw, which has since conquered the world. 1990 Alongside two production sites in Ennepetal and Gevelsberg, the ABC group also includes the subsidiary company AZ Ausrüstung und Zubehör in Hattingen, which helped further its international presence by setting up sales and distribution companies in England, France, Spain, Poland, Turkey and the USA in the 80s and 90s. The foundation of the International Coldforming Alliance together with Rockford in USA and Osaka Rashi in Japan in finally makes ABC a true global player. 2003 The ABC business group is established. 2005 ABC revolutionises the market yet again with the new SPAX.
