Sphereworks

SphereWorks is a privately owned company with a strong focus on specialized consulting services such as development of middleware and highly modular and scalable content management frameworks. Also, company provides a research environment for testing advances in software (e.g. frameworks, libraries and algorithms). CMS Software design and development of a highly modular, extensible and scalable framework for managing, aggregating and presenting content. Using modern design principles (SOLID) combined with years of field experience with related frameworks, a driving motivation was identifying essential shortcomings and subsequently develop modern counterparts. A modern HTML5/CSS/JS client provides a user friendly approach to managing content and powerful content aggregation pipelines allow e.g. image resources to be computed on demand, cached (if required) and streamed. The framework is written from the ground up using a cloud first approach, allowing the code base to run equally well on premises as in the cloud (Windows Azure). LINQ for CMS Extensive research on the LINQ provider model (the capturing of expressions, translation of entities, projections and compiled queries). The motivation behind the research was writing a complete LINQ provider for the SphereWorks CMS framework. The result of the research was presented to the Copenhagen.NET User Group community (CNUG). XML Stream Software design and development for correlating large amounts of individual XML documents as a unified stream; the streaming approach drastically reduced required memory resources, improved performance and allowed the system to scale with growing data on limited hardware.
