Sphinx Foundation

Foundation Sphinx is a platform for debate, connections, imagination. It is the pearl of the public arena in the Maastricht region. Sphinx organises monthly public meetings (‘Sphinx spreekt’) about current issues of relevance for the citizenly of Maastricht and the region. ‘Sphinx spreekt’ has a fixed frame with flexible format. Each event is illustrated by Music and commentary of a local artist (poet, painter,…). The first ‘Sphinx spreekt’ is in September with the major of Maastricht, Mr. Onno Hoes. ‘sphinx–kerst’ (Sphinx Christmas) This is an annual Christmas diner for homeless people and the ‘well-to-do’ citizens in the Maastricht region. Aim of ‘Sphinx Christmas’ is to connect people that do not meet each other in normal conditions, and are hardly unaware of each others existence. By means of having a joint diner.
