Splash On Earth
Splash on Earth is a community-building event that was developed in 2021 to reduce social isolation and to show residents how food waste reduction can be simple and fun. The event invites participants in an outdoor setting to paint their thoughts on environmental action on the asphalt. Paintings are done using an eco-paint that is made from food waste. In order to win prizes, participants have to play educational games and collaborate with others. In the past two years, we have connected with over residents and 6 local schools in the community. By repurposing food waste and integrating visual arts with environmentalism, Splash on Earth is able to provide a welcoming space for expression and collaboration.
