Stand Stare

Stand + Stare create immersive theatre and interactive design. We collaborate with people from a range of disciplines including technologists, academics, archivists and even cheesemakers. Always seeking to challenge convention and to tell a good story, we create automated experiences, often based on archive material, and immersive performances where our audiences feel stimulated by the ideas, but not intimidated by the form. Our work is characterised by a sense of warmth and nostalgia with particular attention given to the design. We make work for theatres, festivals, commercial clients, media agencies, museums, libraries and universities. We also run workshops and give lectures based on our projects and experience. We’re a resident company at the Pervasive Media Studio in central Bristol, and also have an office just up the road at The Parlour.
