Starkisscreations

StarkissCreations is the brainchild of Markus ‘Star’ Harwood-Jones. As an author, illustrator, and film-maker, Star focuses on themes of love, justice, and community building. His main artistic works include the all-trans documentary Mosaic, the Confessions of a Teenage Transsexual Whore zine series, and the collection of short stories known as Everything & All At Once. Most recently, Markus has released two young adult novels: Just Julian and Romeo for Real, with support from Lorimer publishing. Markus also works as a public speaker and workshop facilitator, specializing on the topics of gender, sexuality, zine making, creative writing, community research, poetry and performance. In addition, Star sells original art and associated merchandise through small fairs and the Starkiss Creations storefront. Markus holds a BA in Sociology from Ryerson University, where he also was the co-founder of the RU Trans Collective. Markus/Star also holds an MA in Gender Studies at Queen’s University, where he was supervised by Dr. Scott Morgensen.
