Starry Skies North

We're a group of local advocates whose goal is to spread awareness about light pollution because, oddly enough, light pollution is something that's hard to see until you know to see it. Your local chapter of Dark Sky International (previously known as the International Dark Sky Association). All across our lakes, year by year, the stars have been getting dimmer. Together, we can bring them back! Reducing light pollution is something that benefits everyone - star-friendly lighting increases human safety and well-being, creates functional nighttime environments, fosters astronomy, energy efficiency, ecotourism, and makes our communities more beautiful. Let's retain and reclaim our starry skies!(We're also an official chapter of the International Dark-Skies Association, or "IDA". Light pollution is a global problem, but we can make our own regional solutions!)
