Since 2004, Start:up Slovenia has been dedicated to co-developing Slovenia’s vibrant start-up ecosystem. Driven by an entrepreneurial mindset and the belief that entrepreneurship solves real-world problems, we empower innovation and progress. Since 2007, we have been shining a spotlight on the country’s most promising start-ups through the Start:up of the Year competition, helping to put Slovenia on the global start-up map. Our vision is to position Start:up Slovenia as the core platform of the Slovenian start-up ecosystem. Here’s how we make it happen: We Inform. We are a lighthouse in the dynamic start-up environment, sharing valuable news and insights with the community. We develop digital information channels and organize events — including PODIM, one of Europe’s leading start-up conferences. We Promote. We highlight key players, programs, and success stories in the ecosystem, helping start-ups gain visibility and traction. We Inspire. We share powerful start-up stories — real journeys, real lessons, real role models — to spark entrepreneurial thinking and motivate the next generation of innovators. We Connect. We build bridges between start-ups and investors, venture capital funds, corporate innovation programs, and the broader support environment — both in Slovenia and internationally. We Cooperate. We collaborate with international start-up platforms, co-develop networks, and seek cross-border synergies that open new opportunities for our community. We Drive Change. We ensure that the voice of start-ups is heard and advocate for improvements that foster a more supportive environment for entrepreneurship.
