Hi, I’m Mark MacLeod. Since I have been leading finance and operations for angel and VC-backed startups in software, communications and the web. Over the years, I have worked with some great startups, entrepreneurs and investors, and have gained exposure to many aspects of company-building from running alliances to corporate development, support, operations and everything in between. My work is focused on the following areas: Funding: I get startups investor-ready and help run the fundraising process including prospecting, deal negotiation, legal and closing. Growth: Either as CFO or advisor, I stay involved to help startups accelerate their growth. I focus on runway management, key metrics, performance and other issues. Because I work with so many companies and because of my focus on software and the web, I bring metrics, comparables and lessons learned from all that experience to my startups. Back office: The StartupCFO team runs the back office for several startups. From accounting to payroll / HR, paying vendors and dealing with the government we take care of things so that you can run your business. Exits: From helping with introductions to ensure your startup is known and well-positioned with the big players, to ensuring you are due diligence ready, I help my startups prepare for and achieve great exit transactions.
