Staurolite Barn

Jackie and Todd Burkhalter are North Georgia natives and have enjoyed the beautiful Blue Ridge area for over 20 years. The married couple and business partners love entertaining others and look forward to sharing their venue with others. Jackie’s experience as a local realtor, and Todd’s history as a successful business owner in financial planning, gave them the opportunity to create their own event venue. With the vision of first creating a venue for their own businesses, Staurolite Barn expanded to become an event venue that anyone can enjoy! Staurolite Barn, located in Mineral Bluff, takes its name from the mineral vein of staurolite that runs through the property, which was once pasture land. Many people around the world consider staurolite to be a lucky stone, which can be easily found all over our 130-acre property after a hard rain. The Burkhalters obtained the scenic land in 2021 with the vision of an indoor and outdoor event venue. The main drive into the wedding and event venue follows the curve of an old horse path that goes from the gate to the barn. The old well house provides our horses with water from the original well dug out by hand. Outside the barn is a large, flat yard within a knoll in the pasture that is the perfect backdrop for pictures with the nearby pond and mountains in the background. This outside area can accommodate over 150 seated people with music, lighting, and tents. Make sure to visit the babbling spring that flows along the border of our property and pond, named Cash’s Creek, after a family horse laid to rest nearby. We also have several retired horses that have lived on the ranch for 30 years. You can see them running in our fields with our spirited miniature horse, JohnHenry.
