Play is the work of childhood- Jean Piaget Play is just as important today as it was when developmental psychologist Jean Piaget first coined the phrase. As society develops, opportunities for play are being subsumed into more structured learning environments, reducing opportunities for children to direct and explore their interests. At STEAM Centers, our goal is to create engaging environments where children can lead according to their interests, engage in social-emotional skill development, and foster positive parent-child interactions. Through our community-based programming, we can meet children where they are, both physically and developmentally, as we work to create a community that explores, innovates, and creates together.
