Stekaskills

STEKAskills is a Malawian-led Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with an international Board of Trustees consisting of Malawians, diaspora and Scots. We work with and for the Malawian NGO 'STEKA'('Step Kids Awareness'), a care home run by women’s and children’s rights campaigners Godknows and Helen Maseko. Together we create a brave space in which poverty and trauma experienced young Malawians empower themselves by developing the skills, confidence and agency needed to challenge structural inequalities, including access to education and skills training to work their way out of poverty (both at the STEKA home and at our STEKA Vocational Skills centre).
