ABOUT OUR ILLUSTRATIONS AND FINE ART Paul Leighton has been painting and drawing for most of his life. While his professional career has focused on industrial, web and graphic design, he's always had a passion for oil painting. In 2009 he merged his skill as a painter and graphic designer to create the first of a series of illustrations for Bend's Old Mill District. These popular posters capture scenes of nature with people enjoying its abundant recreational opportunities. Paul is influenced by the Art Deco travel posters of the 20's and 30's, but his settings have a more contemporary feel. In fact his style has been describes as "vintage with a modern twist". He has created illustrations for Central Oregon Magazine, Visit Bend, 1859 magazine, and sporting events including the Pole Pedal Paddle, Cascade Gran Fondo and Bend Marathon. ABOUT US Paul started Steller Design in 2008 and his wife Laura joined him in 2010 to manage sales and operations. The company name’s unique spelling was inspired by the many beautiful Steller Jays that surround their Bend, Oregon home. Paul is a graduate of Ohio State University (go Bucks!) with a degree in Industrial Design, and began working exclusively in web and graphic design in Laura graduated from Oklahoma State University (go Pokes!) with a degree in Finance. After fifteen years in banking, she transitioned to a career in fundraising at the High Desert Museum before joining Paul at Steller Design.
