STEMS4Girls, Inc. expects to narrow the educational and resource disparity that exists among underserved and rural communities in Leon County. With the support of the local community, corporate, private, and government grants, we aspire to build a state-of-the-art STEM facility where girls of color with less than a 2.5 GPA can have a safe space to actively explore and engage with educators, tutors, and mentors. Through a structured data driven design and support system, we plan to nurture their STEM identity, expose them to career opportunities in the STEM industry and inspire the next generation of young girls to sustain STEM practices throughout their education and career.
