STEP has developed a system (patent pending) which allows any energy store to be charged with the minimum possible greenhouse gas emissions. This applies to all energy storage, from mobile phones to electric vehicles, domestic batteries, hydrogen generators and thermal stores. STEP systems can deliver a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. We are currently receiving SMART:Scotland funding to develop the STEP Concept and are actively seeking private investment, distributors, technology and licensing partners. Technology STEP is a system which can deliver power to consumer goods, electric vehicles, domestic batteries and domestic heating systems with significantly lower carbon emissions and lower costs than anything currently available, using mains electricity with the lowest possible greenhouse gas emissions. The STEP system comprises-a cloud-based server which monitors electricity generation from individual power stations and uses known performance data to derive instantaneous grid carbon intensity in real time-internet-connected units with 13A and higher capacity switching and billing grade monitoring capability-connected directional current clamp units to monitor on-site renewable energy generation. Using these components, the system can deliver power to any system capable of any form of energy storage, be it batteries, heat, pumped storage, compressed air, kinetic or hydrogen generation, using grid electricity with the lowest possible carbon intensity. Investment STEP has already benefitted from recognition and support from SMART:SCOTLAND and has applied to several similar schemes.
