Rudolf Steiner’s principles and educational methods are based on the acceptance of the uniqueness of each human being. Step Together’s school and community for children and adults with special needs as well as Waldorf Beirut’s kindergarten and school adopt an inclusive, holistic and humanistic approach to education. With our belief that professional development is a pillar to quality education to parents, teachers and staff, Humanity Together provides adult self-development courses, foundation studies in anthroposophy and the arts, renewal courses for positivity and self-exploration and teacher professional development courses. The main competencies gained by the Humanity Together Training are: • Understanding the essential nature of the human being as presented by Rudolf Steiner as universally human, regardless of cultural, national and religious differences. • Respecting and love for children and adults as individualities, who bring with them their own destiny and gifts. • Understanding child development (pre-birth, early years, later childhood) and early learning, as presented by R. Steiner and in general developmental research. • Having the ability to create a safe, supportive and nurturing environment and care for the child’s senses, based on an understanding of the effect of the impact of modern environments on children in the areas of nutrition, life style, media exposure and resulting health problems. • Making a personal decision to embark in self- development in the soul forces of thinking, feeling and willing through meditative, artistic and practical work. • Having the ability to work on the child’s learning through imitation and example, and to strive to become a role model worthy of imitation.
