An educational experience at Stetson is unlike any other. We’re changing the way students learn. Our mission is to provide students with instruction that’s tailored to their needs. This unique approach has enabled our students flourish, with many of them far exceeding state standards. Stetson Academy students are among the highest performing students in the nation. Another aspect of what makes Stetson so special is our commitment to ‘experiential’ learning. Students can learn a great deal from books, but experiences can have a much more profound and lasting effect. Being able to hold a megalodon tooth, or watch a baby chick hatch, or visit an observatory, or look at cells under a microscope provides students with a richer and more fulfilling education that books alone can deliver. This approach fosters engagement and instills a love and appreciation for learning that will last a lifetime. Student behavior is the foundation to providing an environment where students can thrive. Our behavior management systems foster positive student behaviors and enable teachers to focus on instruction rather than distractions. Stetson Academy students are kind, caring, compassionate, hard-working and resilient. At Stetson, we prioritize core subjects such as reading, writing, science, and math; however, a holistic approach to education includes a healthy variety of disciplines. For those students that are excelling, we offer the opportunity to select an elective. We offer a wide range of electives, from coding and robotics to home economics, woodworking, computer aided manufacturing, sign language, and music. Despite our rigorous curriculum, our students love coming to school! We're challenging the idea that school has to be boring. By creating a fun and engaging environment, students actually look forward to coming to school. Our mission is to ignite a passion for learning that will propel our students through life.
