De Stichting Nederlands Instituut Veiligheid Zwemlocaties (NIVZ) is in 2013 opgericht. De NIVZ stelt zich ten doel om kennis en maatregelen die de (fysieke) veiligheid op en rondom zwemlocaties betreffen, te bevorderen, te ontwikkelen en te borgen. Daarbij richt zij zich met name op de ontwikkeling en uitvoering van risico-inventarisaties bij zwemlocaties (kust en binnenwater). De rapporten en adviezen van de NIVZ richten zich op de eigenaar, houder, beheerders en / of exploitanten van de zwemlocatie.
