Die Archenhold-Sternwarte, sowie die Wilhelm-Foerster-Sternwarte zählen zu den traditionsreichsten Volkssternwarten Deutschlands, während das Planetarium am Insulaner und das Zeiss-Großplanetarium als modernste Wissenschaftstheater Europas relevante und innovative Vermittlungsformen anbieten.
