Stops-Can

In October 2014, STOP CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE NOW (StopS-CAN) was founded and incorporated as a nonprofit organization under section 501 (c)(3) of the United States’ government Internal Revenue Code with the goal of providing support to victims of child sexual abuse in the state territories of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with a bigger vision to grow across Africa. Our Vision StopS-CAN organizational aim is to curb child sexual abuse in Africa through campaigning and collaboration by playing a significant role in creating awareness of the dangers of child sexual abuse trauma while implementing various programs to improve the lives of survivors/victims. The provision of safe spaces is to play a positive role in the recovery process of child sexual abuse traumas, thereby enabling their psychological, physical, and social wellbeing. Our Mission StopS-CAN endeavors to enhance the delivery of administrative and legal remedies offered to victims of child sexual abuse in the territories of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by committing its resources to the achievement of the following three milestones: i. Awareness – One (1) year intense travel across African countries starting from Nigeria to tell stories of survivors/victims and organizations helping them heal. Monthly town hall meetings, documentation of stories and hosting an annual conference where instructors, social workers, survivors and other stakeholders can share their experiences and insights. ii. Collaboration - Training 20 StopS-CAN Fellows from different sectors every fiscal year to enhance collaboration and provide holistic healing path for survivors/victims. Safe Spaces - Establishing and maintaining Stop-SCAN respite homes, Children Leading Children global classrooms and regular group therapy for adult survivors.
