I began my career as a tradesman, where I spent time fabricating and installing structural & mechanical systems. I was constantly running into problems that could have easily been avoided had the design team been aware of them. I faced a new challenge when I began working as a part of a design team. It was difficult to convince the rest of the team to build the working relationships with fabricators and manufacturers necessary to streamline the design and construction process. In my experience of traditional design firms, their job is finished as soon as the plans leave their desks. S&M Design Solutions has been built from the ground up to eliminate these issues. We have a strong working relationship with our manufacturing and fabrication partners and we will follow the project from the initial investigation right through to implementation and assessment of the outcome.
