I have always been drawn to adventure. It has fueled my love of the natural world and sports, as well as my love of people and the inspirational nature of ‘us.’ My relationships with people have moved through the fields of medicine as a Primary Care and Sports Medicine Physician, as well as through business as an executive in an Integrated Healthcare System caring for large rural areas in Washington State. In recent years I have focused my energies on developing people and their leadership potential through coaching. The coaching relationship is one of intense trust. It’s not about giving advice, but following the interests of the other person and listening to understand. It’s also about providing them with a challenge that provokes creativity and imagination. Even though our world seems driven by compliance and efficiency, truly great coaching is about developing unique self-expression and individual genius, which lives within all of us.
