Students Who Teach

How it works: Students of the 21st century are true facilitators of learning and acquisition of knowledge through development of concepts and skills. They will guide other students who learn so that the process is truly reciprocal. The enrolment process is relatively simple. In order to become a student you simply log in to the website and schedule a class with one of our student educators. If willing to tutor children from grades Upper KG to 5 one can download the form from the website and fill in the details. You will be contacted shortly after. Once accepted you will be provided with a zoom link and will receive a certificate on the completion of 10 classes. Why it is needed: Letting students teach sounds scary to some, many won’t respect the tutors and they may not be entirely wrong in their thinking. Now it’s time to take another chance, one that's a really smart risk. In fact, researchers have learnt that students learn better when they are taught by someone who understands them. Even though our student educators don't have many years of experience as compared to most professional tutors, they have had a more recent experience with the curriculum. They are bright students who have excelled in the subjects they are teaching. SWT is an effective, inexpensive learning intervention that takes the burden off the parents both financially and mentally. Benefits: Students teaching students maintain a high level of interest so that students stay engaged. Furthermore, students improve socially, it builds their confidence and improves their self-image. When students think that they have to teach they put themselves into a mindset which causes them to be more efficient in learning strategies, organising materials, weighing the importance of different concepts and focusing on the main points.
