STUDIO | ELLE EMME CO. is the Shelter Island, New York practice of Lisa Marie Milat providing full scope services including architecture, interiors and decoration for small scope projects. Her work combines classical aesthetics with a modern design language emphasizing use of materials and craft for custom residences that successfully accommodate the movements of everyday domestic life as well as tell the story of the individuals who live there. Every project is unique, reflecting a rigorous design process that searches to find the client's personal definitions of function and aesthetics. Lisa Marie established STUDIO | ELLE EMME CO. New York in 2019 to expand her professional experience to include sourcing and specifying of furnishings and accessories and build a network of vendors and fabricators necessary to complete the interiors and decoration for a high-profile residence in Montauk, New York. Her prior experience as an Architect with AD100 firms in both San Francisco and Los Angeles and as Interiors Director for an architectural firm in Bridgehampton, New York, served as 20 years of experience designing and managing large and complex residences, providing the highest possible quality of design with the highest possible quality of service and client satisfaction. Lisa Marie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and earned a subsequent Certificate of Interior Design from UCLA. She returned to her native New York in 2015 to be near the family and city she loves and currently resides year round on Shelter Island.
