Studio Ovo is an architectural design practice in the San Francisco Bay Area offering full design services for residential, restaurant, and commercial clients. Studio Ovo is woman-owned, minority owned, supportive of local artists and fabricators, and committed to collaboration, resourcefulness, and innovative, sustainable re-use of materials. Our design philosophy is rooted in the idea that the natural integrity of materials such as glass, metal, stone, and wood is where timeless design begins. Tactile is a word we return to again and again to describe our work. We’re interested in how materials feel when you touch them, sit on them, or brush your hand against a wall. We believe that collaboration should inform and improve the design process at many points along the way. That means working with people who are great at sourcing the right materials for a project, and seeking out skilled carpenters, fabricators, lighting designers, and artists to bring their ideas to light. Interweaving perspectives and experiences often leads to a design that’s greater than the sum of its parts.
