Subtropico Limited is an investment company focusing on the agricultural services sector and related value chain. Investments are in unlisted companies. Our investment approach is value orientated which is vital for long-term investment returns for our shareholders. The majority of our shareholders are producers and we have a proud dividend history for the past 15 years. Not only are we able, within our group of companies, to source both livestock and fresh produce from producers as commission agents but we also invest in companies that add further value to these commodities. Subtropico remains motivated to invest in companies with the following qualities: • Companies in the agricultural services sector and related value chain; • Significant purchases - companies with at least R500 after-tax earnings; • Businesses earning good returns on capital with little or no debt; • Motivated management in place; • Simple businesses with sound business models; • A known offering price.
