Sugar and Spice Developments was founded by Stacey Conte and Betsy Tinervin in 2021 with the mission to recreate spaces, environments, and communities. The two partners were both divorced, single mothers with a vision to create financial freedom for themselves while helping other people have safe, eco-friendly, and modern living options at affordable prices. The company name came from the personality differences each partner brought to the partnership. One was more passive, focusing on raising capital and spreading their vision through social media, you know the "sugar on top" while the other partner was a sharp-shooter negotiator, able to wear a construction hat and focus on the harsh real estate game bringing all the "spice!" The company's niche focus is rehabbing multifamily properties, stabilizing the assets by placing tenants and providing property management than holding them in a portfolio or selling the turnkey cash-flowing asset to another investor. The business model worked quite well as the company after year one had made 600k in profits off their first 3 rehabs sold. During that process, they also provided homes to multiple single mothers, young professionals who relocated to Florida, and several tenants who needed a second chance from a landlord and also accepted many section 8 vouchers.
