Sun Machine, Record Label Cooperative

Mission Statement: Sun Machine is dedicated to the creation of a community-driven, sustainable music culture. To meet this goal, we will focus on the development of a unique business network with strong community ties that will provide artists with an effective means of producing, promoting and making a living from their work. Sun Machine utilizes an alternative business model in an honest and transparent manner, based on the ideals of equal and collective ownership as outlined in the Rochdale principles of international cooperation. Sun Machine is a music and arts cooperative based in Minnesota and Iowa. We are still in the early stages of forming, and so there is much work to be done. The goal is to create an organization that will be able to provide all that is needed to maintain a music and arts project, such as:* Audio recording and distribution * Design, both in print and on the web * Promotion, marketing and booking Sun Machine also has a major focus on community, and so will emphasize networking with local community organizations, as well as providing services to and volunteering for these organizations.
