Sun Partners International

Sun Partners International is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides engineering and financial resources to deploy solar photovoltaic (PV) power systems for electrification of medical clinics, schools, and communities in developing countries. Projects completed to date: solar water pumping project at a community school in a Lusaka, Zambia mega-slum in 2013, solar electrification of a dormitory for 96 girls at a rural secondary school near Mwanza, Tanzania in 2014 and 2015, and solar electrification of a daycare for orphans in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa in 2018. In 2019 Sun Partners completed a major solar electrification project at the FAME medical hospital outside of Karatu, a remote, medically-underserved community in northern Tanzania. In 2021 Sun Partners complete a 35 kW solar PV project to power the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) learning center at Operation Breakthrough, an non-profit organization providing before and after school programs for disadvantaged youth in Kansas City. In 2022, Sun Partners provided solar PV systems for electrical service and water pumping and solar thermal systems for water heating for the off-grid Kao La Amani Children's Village in northern Tanzania operated by Tir Na Nog, an Ireland-based charity. In 2023, Sun Partners funded and installed a solar-assisted water pumping system at Rift Valley Children's Village, an orphanage that is home to 100 children in the village of Oldeani, northern Tanzania. In 2023 and 2024, Sun Partners continued support for the Kao La Amani orphanage in Tanzania by deploying solar PV systems to power a reverse osmosis water purification system and an additional children's cottage. In 2024-2025, in partnership with So They Can, Sun Partners installed solar-assisted water pumping systems at three primary schools and a campus-wide electrification project at a primary boarding school in the Babati district of Tanzania.
