Sunshine Rescue Mission

Sunshine Rescue Mission (SRM) operates, four different facilities in Flagstaff, Arizona, all devoted to lifting people up and out of homelessness. Our facilities include; The Mission, Hope Cottage, Sanctuary House and Thrift for Goodness Sake. SRM generally serves over meals a year to people experiencing homelessness and provides over safe bed nights to men, women and children. Our goal is to not only provide crisis relief, but to provide a viable path out of tragedy through life change and restoration. We meet people where they are and walk alongside them through the messiness of life, including childhood trauma, self-medicating addictions, emotional and mental health and extreme poverty. As people find health and well-being, they are restored to family, find meaningful work when able, overcome toxic behaviors (like addiction), and go on to lead fulfilling, productive lives. As a Christian organization, our faith serves as a strong foundation but is not a requirement for free services provided. We also offer a voluntary discipleship program at both Hope Cottage and Sanctuary House. This is a longer-term, residential program. Our experience shows that people are wounded in community and also healed in community. We are almost entirely privately funded. We receive no taxpayer support from the City, State or the federal government. We are not affiliated in any way with Flagstaff Shelter Services but appreciate them as a valuable partner.
